New QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Haddelbaink has expressed his admiration for his former club Burton Albion.
In a series of tweets sent this morning, the 43-year-old said “I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone connected with Burton Albion and wish them every success in the future
“It has been an absolute honour and privilege to manage the club and everyone played an invaluable part in our success
“My extended thanks goes to the chairman, Ben Robinson, who showed enormous faith in me and gave me the opportunity to manage the club
“I will always have a place for Burton in my heart and will continue to follow their future progress with great interest”
Hasselbaink guided Burton to the League Two title last season and left The Brewers top of League One when he joined QPR last week.
During his 14 month stay at the Pirelli Stadium Hasselbaink averaged a hugely impressive 1.96 points per game and is certain to be remembered fondly by the Burton faithful.
